Bishop George J. Lucas was installed as the Archbishop of Omaha, NE in July of 2009. Prior to his appointment in Omaha, he served as the Bishop of the Diocese of Springfield, IL in.  During his tenure as the Rector for Kenrick-Glennon Seminary in the Archdiocese of St. Louis, he served as a member of the Seminary’s Board of Directors and Board of Trustees.  He currently holds a position on the USCCB’s Bishops’ Committee for the Protection of Children and Young People.  Bishop Lucas was ordained to the priesthood in May 1975 in the Archdiocese of St. Louis, MO.
