CLI developed the Awards for Outstanding Catholic Leadership in 2000 to recognize people in the Catholic Church whose exemplary leadership in the family, the workplace, the community and the Church has been inspired by their Catholic faith. The lay, clergy and religious men and women named this year have inspired and led others, serving as role models for future Church and lay leaders.  More information about each honoree can be found below.

The 2010 Awards will be held on Friday, November 12, 2010 at the Drexelbrook in Drexel Hill, PA. Tickets are available for $150 per person. Dr. Theresa Burke is the founder of Rachel's Vineyard Mnistries and the author of the The Rachel's Vineyard Weekend Retreat Manuals for both Catholic and Interdenominational settings. Rachel's Vineyard has outreach in 47 states and over a dozen countries worldwide. Dr. Burke has lectured and trained professionals internationally on the subject of post abortion trauma and healing. She is a prolific author and has also published a new retreat specifically designed for those who have suffered sexual abuse.

Rev. William Byron, SJ is a nationally-recognized educator and member of the Society of Jesus. As the former president of both The Catholic University of America and the University of Scranton and as the current president of St. Joseph’s Preparatory School, he has transformed institutions and thousands of lives with outstanding leadership focused always “for the greater glory of God.”

Curtis Martin is the founder and president of The Fellowship of Catholic University Students (FOCUS), a nationwide movement dedicated to helping college students know Jesus and fulfill His call for their lives. A husband and father of seven (with an eighth on the way), Martin has created an inspiring ministry that is making a difference on over 33 campuses in 18 states. FOCUS celebrates its tenth anniversary this year.

The Holy Spirit Adoration Sisters (affectionately referred to as the Pink Sisters for their pink robes) are a contemplative, cloistered congregation of sisters devoted to perpetual adoration before the Eucharist. The over 400 members worldwide dedicate their lives to praying for the sanctification of priests and the intentions of all the world. The US congregation founded in Philadelphia, has been particularly cutting edge in its approach to a life of prayer by leveraging technology to offer perpetual adoration and to receive prayer intentions via the world wide web.
