Fr. Chuck Pfeffer Society
Among his many favorite Bible passages, Fr. Chuck Pfeffer described his faith journey and his priesthood using "The Road to Emmaus" passage in Luke's Gospel (24:13-35). In the passage, there is an unnamed disciple that is walking along with Cleopas when they encounter Jesus. Fr. Chuck often invited others to imagine themselves as the unnamed disciple walking along with Christ.
As depicted in this work of art by renowned Catholic artist, Robert McGovern, Fr. Chuck saw his role as priest as a servant at the meal where the disciples recognized Jesus in the breaking of the bread. He wanted to provide a space and a place for people to come to know Christ. To be with others and to take care of them as they discover and develop a relationship with Jesus. To serve them as they come to know Jesus in the Eucharist.
The Catholic Leadership Institute creates a space for our Church leaders to create plans for their parish or diocese, to learn more about themselves in order to best serve their parish and community, and to effectively manage administrative tasks in order to be free to foster relationships between Jesus and the people whom they serve. We are enabling Fr. Chuck's spirit to be lived out through a number of programs and services in partner with the Church that will continue to provide our good shepherds with the tools and confidence needed in leading people to a relationship with Christ.
Father Chuck was as close to knowing Jesus Christ as I have ever experienced. His love of Christ and the Church was his inspiration for how he guided so many of us on our faith journey. We were nourished by his love. He truly was an authentic follower of Jesus Christ.Tim Flanagan, Co-Founder, Catholic Leadership Institute
In honoring the memory and legacy of Catholic Leadership Institute co-Founder Fr. Chuck Pfeffer, the members of this giving society are recognized for their leadership and support through gifts of $1000 or more to the Catholic Leadership Institute. Just as Fr. Chuck passionately pursued the formation of leaders in order to bring others closer to Jesus Christ, these donors enable the Catholic Leadership Institute to continue to grow its ministry in support of all Catholic leaders, ordained and laity.
We invite you to consider how you might support the Catholic Leadership Institute in order to continue to strengthen the ministry of those bishops, priests and lay leaders like Fr. Chuck who act as the servant at the table, a vessel through which others could recognize Jesus.
