CLI Founder Receives Prestigious Malvern Prep Alumni Award [ Back to News Articles ]

MALVERN, Pa. – Timothy C. Flanagan ’60, founder and chairman of the Catholic Leadership Institute, will be honored, along with four other notable Malvern Prep alumni, at the 2007 Alumni Awards Dinner this Friday, November 2, at 6:30 p.m. in Stewart Hall on the Malvern campus.

Flanagan will receive the prestigious St. Augustine Alumni Award, given for his distinguished lifetime achievements that exemplify the spirit of Malvern Prep and the core values of the Augustinian tradition. Flanagan founded his organization 16 years ago to provide a comprehensive leadership development curriculum to all ages of Catholic adults, both laity and clergy. The institute is the only Catholic focused leadership training organization in the United States.

In announcing the award, James H. Stewart, president of Malvern Prep, stated that “Tim Flanagan best exemplifies in his everyday life the true mission of St. Augustine and Malvern Prep. We are very proud of his outstanding contribution to the community and school and he is well deserving of this honor.”

Also being recognized on Friday are Louis B. Colameco, III ’77, who will receive the Alumni Loyalty Award, given because of his dedicated support of fundraising and alumni efforts at Malvern, and three alumni who will be inducted into the Malvern Athletic Hall of Fame: John “Jack” Z. Novicki ’61, Henry “Buzz” C. Dugan ’61 and John K. DeAngelis ’79. All of these alumni award winners will also be recognized at halftime of Malvern’s homecoming football game against Penn Charter at 2:00 p.m. this Saturday, November 3.
