STATEMENT OF MATTHEW MANION ON THE ELECTION OF ARCHBISHOP JOHN FOLEY AND ARCHBISHOP DANIEL DINARDO TO THE COLLEGE OF CARDINALS

The Board of Directors, staff and over 9,000 graduates of Catholic Leadership Institute extend heartfelt congratulations to Archbishop John Foley and Archbishop Daniel DiNardo upon their appointment by His Holiness, Pope Benedict XVI to the College of Cardinals.
Cardinal-designate Foley (The 2001 recipient of the Award for Outstanding Catholic Leadership) and Cardinal-designate DiNardo serve as inspiring examples of Christian witnesses with lifetimes devoted to spreading the good news of the Gospel. As good leaders and good shepherds they have empowered many to answer the call to leadership.
During this joyful occasion for the Church in the United States, Catholic Leadership Institute gives thanks to God for the loyal and faithful servants He has graciously given to the Church.
