5.24.07 - Catholic Leadership Institute is pleased to announce that 35 priests from the Diocese of Orlando, FL will begin the Good Leaders, Good Shepherds curriculum August 7-10. The Orlando Diocese is one of thirteen dioceses currently participating in the two-year curriculum. The priests will be the first priests to participate in the program from the state of Florida.
According to Fr. Ed McCarthy, Director of Clergy Services for the Diocese of Orlando, the priests participation is part of a larger vision for the diocese. "We completed a diocesan synod last May and the purpose of that gathering was to make sure we grow the Diocese of Orlando responsibly," said Fr. McCarthy. "In order to do that, we need to make sure our priests have access to the best training opportunities." Fr. McCarthy also noted that of the 100 priests in the diocese, 35 will be participating in the program.
