5.24.07 - Catholic Leadership Institute is pleased to announce that 24 priests from the Archdiocese of Boston will begin the Good Leaders, Good Shepherds curriculum October 16-19. Five priests from the Archdiocese have been participating in a regional pilot in New England. Their experience has prompted the Archdiocese to begin a new cohort of priests to begin this fall. For newly ordained priest, Fr. Bill Ventura, the experience has made a great difference in his ministry. “As a newly ordained priest, I think Good Leaders, Good Shepherds will be invaluable to my ministry in the areas of problem solving, management, and simply more effectively dealing with people. ‘Go for it.’ Be open to the curriculum, it will do nothing but help your leadership development.” Fr. Ventura is the Parochial Vicar, St. John the Evangelist. Fr. Brian Smith, another priest of the Archdiocese and participant in the regional pilot can't wait for his fellow priests to begin. “I would tell any priest, ‘You need it more than you think; you’ll benefit from GLGS in ways you cannot imagine…the objectivity it brings is literally invaluable.'"
