Walter Francisco Mena

Leadership Consultant

Walter Francisco Mena joined Catholic Leadership Institute in March 2022 as a Leadership Consultant. A Catholic disciple of Jesus, and a Bilingual (Spanish-English) professional lay ecclesial minister and leadership trainer, Walter has formed, mentored, and accompanied adults, young people, and their parents in many parishes and dioceses throughout the country. He has served as a Parish Pastoral Coordinator, Director of the Leadership Formation Programs Department at Instituto Fe y Vida, and Vice President and Adviser to the Board of Directors of The Catholic Network of Pastoral Juvenil Hispana: LA RED. Currently, Walter is the Staff Director and Leadership Organizer at the Merrimack Valley Project Inc. in Massachusetts, a nonprofit project whose mission is Faith Based Community organizing. In addition, he is a biblical ghost writer for The Pontifical Mission Society blog in Spanish and a Boston College Certificate Program Professor. He has been involved in pastoral leadership formation and ministry in the United States and Latin America for more the 35 years

Walter is a native of El Salvador, and pursued undergraduate studies in Philosophy and Literature in Colombia, South America. Walter then received a Master in Pastoral Theology from the School of Theology and Ministry at Boston College.

Walter lives in Massachusetts with his family, where he has a weekly radio program on a Catholic radio station talking about how faith is put into action as missionary disciples in church and society. He and his family participate actively in the social and parochial life of their local community.
