Angel Barrera joined Catholic Leadership Institute as a Leadership Consultant in 2022. He has twenty years of experience sharing his passion for serving the Church and forming ministry leaders.
Currently, Angel serves as Associate Director of Strategy and Development and Synod Coordinator for the Diocese of Brownsville. Prior to his recent work in the Diocese of Brownsville, he served as a project coordinator for youth ministry services at the Center for Ministry Development. As editor of an online subscription resource, teacher of certificate training courses, and program director of service immersion experiences, he has formed and resourced hundreds of adult and youth ministry leaders across the country.
Angel holds a Master of Arts degree in Religious Studies from the University of the Incarnate Word and a Master of Education degree in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Texas – Rio Grande Valley. He and his wife, Ashley, are the proud parents of six children and live in the Diocese of Brownsville.
