Gigi Escoe

Gigi Escoe, while a lifelong, enthusiastic Catholic, is new to working with the church. She recently retired from a 30-year academic career where she served as a Dean and Vice Provost at the University of Cincinnati (UC). She is a nationally recognized leader in the Future of Work, service learning, and industry and community partnerships. At UC she led academic matters related to undergraduate education, student academic success, accreditation, experiential learning, and teaching and learning. She also headed UC’s Co-op (ranked #1 among all public universities and #4 overall by US News and World Report) and apprenticeship programs. Prior to work as a university executive, she served as the Department Head of Economics (where she is a tenured faculty member) and as an economic analyst for the Central Intelligence Agency. She has published in economics and student success and she has attracted more than $25,000,000 in external funding. She cares deeply about community engagement and serves on the Board of Directors of the Cincinnati branch of St. Vincent DePaul. Gigi seeks to continue to contribute by using her prior experiences to support parishes, priests, and bishops in strategic planning and coaching. She and her husband Jim have 2 young adult daughters and enjoy traveling, entertaining, and college football. Their home parish is Our Lord Christ the King in Cincinnati.
