Mary Serafino

Communications Manager

Mary joined Catholic Leadership Institute in January 2023 after 9 years of working in communications for various nonprofits, in missions specific to priestly formation, the prolife movement, and children with disabilities. In her role as Communications Specialist for Kenrick-Glennon Seminary from 2016-2022, Mary developed a passion for the formation of future priests and leaders within the Catholic Church. She has managed and led cross-channel communications strategies with internal and external implementation in her professional career and has extensive experience collaborating with dioceses, bishops, and priests in the Archdiocese of St. Louis and around the world. Mary is a writer/storyteller across several mediums with experience in video and graphic design.

An active member and cantor at the historic Basilica of St. Louis the King, “The Old Cathedral,” Mary is also a Level I Catechist in Catechesis of the Good Shepherd. She teaches in the atrium at St. Francis Xavier College Church.

Mary enjoys cooking, hiking, hand-thrown pottery, and traveling the world. She has traveled to Italy, Ireland, Israel, and Spain, and completed the Camino de Santiago “The Way of St. James” in 2018. Mary studies children's literature and is currently writing a book for children on the concept of pilgrimage. Sunday is her favorite day of the week when friends often visit and make themselves at home for brunch or dinner.
