Milton Bravo

Milton Javier Bravo’s professional experience includes higher education administration, non-profit leadership, academic research, teaching, community organizing, and public scholarship.
Bravo earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Theology and Philosophy at St. Peter’s University. Proceeded to earn his Master of Arts in Theology, with a concentration in Biblical Studies, from the Immaculate Conception School of Theology at Seton Hall University. He earned his PhD from Fordham University.
After completing his coursework in the Graduate Schools of Education, Religion, and Religious Education, he completed his dissertation entitled “Una Comunidad Católica: Assessment of U.S. Hispanic popular Catholicism among college students,” which explores the beliefs, rituals, and symbols embedded in the cultural and religious practices of young Hispanic Catholics living in the United States. His research interests include contextual theology, ecclesiology, and U.S. Hispanic Catholicism.
His higher education administration expertise includes student life, student services, mission integration, academic affairs, enrollment management, academic research, and teaching. As an assistant professor, he has taught courses in the fields of Theology and Philosophy.
In his VP roles, he has helped institutions align their strategic priorities with their mission and identity as Catholic institutions of higher learning. In his previous role with Commonweal Magazine, a non-profit in NYC, he elevated narratives and voices that reflect the current and emerging demographics in American society.
A tireless advocate for justice, inclusion, and equity, he has advocated for culturally responsive ministries and culturally responsive pedagogies at colleges and universities. He looks forward to working with leaders of our Church in strategic planning and implementation, helping them carry forward new and existing evangelization efforts in our Church.
He and his wife, Stephanie, are proud parents of Maximilian, and currently live in New Jersey.
