Guide to Priest Ongoing Formation
The Reality
Priests have an awesome responsibility to lead the world and the Church to Jesus in the Eucharist with joy and creativity, despite the challenges the world presents. Each man’s personal call to holiness - his “yes” moment is not a singular experience; it is renewed every day.
The world in which a priest was ordained is no longer the one he ministers in today, with a growing imbalance of priests to parishes and shifting societal, financial, and political landscapes. Times have changed. Now, priests in a world often unfamiliar with God and increasingly opposed to the Church and the fullness of Truth. Imagining a new, creative mode of ministry is often difficult to comprehend.
