Pam Giganti is a veteran newswoman and an Emmy Award winning journalist who has worked in the radio and television industry for the last 32 years. She is currently the host of the public affairs program Your South Florida on South Florida PBS and is the the host for the University of Miami Health System’s, Focusing on You segments. Giganti led the morning team at WTVJ NBC 6 as anchor of NBC 6 South Florida Today for nearly 15 years. She has also worked as an adjunct professor at the University of Miami School of Communication.

In 2019, Giganti received an Emmy for the program, “Parkland: One Year Later” and in 2009 for her work on the health special, “Breast Cancer: Interactive.” Giganti has covered presidents and leaders, soldiers in wartime, and devoted countless hours to hurricane coverage and breaking news in South Florida over the past three decades. But perhaps one of her most memorable and unusual reports was the time she jumped out of an airplane and broadcast live for a radio show in a tandem skydive.

Giganti began her television career at WSVN Channel 7 after returning to Florida following her husband’s service in the U.S. Navy in San Diego, California. While there, she worked as a news anchor and traffic reporter. Giganti graduated Cum Laude from the University of West Florida’s professionally accredited Communication Arts program in 1990 and recently earned a Master of Arts in Journalism at the University of Miami in 2021.

Giganti has always believed that “to whom much is given, much is expected.” She lends her time to several charitable and children’s organizations. Giganti is currently a board member of Epiphany Catholic School, the Miami Chapter of Legatus, Our Lady of Lourdes Academy and the Catholic Leadership Institute. She has worked with the anti-drug organization and statewide Red Ribbon campaign founders, Informed Families and as a mentor to at risk high school girls with Women of Tomorrow.

Giganti is married and the proud mother of three daughters.
