“Tending The Talents has been a great eye opener for me. This coursed has strengthened my leadership skills, by equipping me with specific learning tools, that have increased my confidence to serve better, given me a deep appreciation for Jesus' model of leadership, and competent faith driven leadership consultants.”
Nineteen leaders from four parishes graduated from Tending the Talents in the Archdiocese of Los Angeles this fall. Coming from different roles in parish life, these participants spent the last year investing time and energy in their formation as leaders and graduated from the program better equipped to tackle leadership opportunities and challenges that they face in their daily ministry.
Catholic Leadership Institute Consultant Dennis VanAuken shared “It was a pleasure working with these dedicated individuals, who are committed to learning and applying what they had learned to improve their effectiveness in their ministries. In addition to the learning they had an opportunity to develop new relationships and will continue to network with others in the cohort who will support the refinement of their leadership skills."
The impact of the increased confidence and competence of this group is part of a larger continued commitment of the Archdiocese of Los Angeles to invest in their priests and parish leaders through partnering with Catholic Leadership Institute’s leadership formation programs like Good Leaders, Good Shepherds and Tending the Talents. Since the beginning of our partnership in 2010, 250 priests and lay leaders in the Archdiocese of Los Angeles have graduated from a Catholic Leadership Institute program, contributing to a shared language and culture of leadership in Southern California.
