Dear Friends in Christ,
As a bishop once shared, “It can be lonely at the top.” Our shepherds carry the immense responsibility of guiding souls, proclaiming the Gospel, and leading with courage in a world that is constantly changing. Now, with nearly 40% of bishops in the United States retiring in the next five years, a new generation of shepherds will soon be entrusted with this sacred mission.
This moment in the life of the Church is both challenging and filled with tremendous opportunity. It is a time that calls for courage, faith, and accompaniment—so that no bishop walks this path alone.
At the center of all we do at Catholic Leadership Institute (CLI) is a deep trust in the promptings of the Holy Spirit. This moment in the Church coincides with the launch of our Five-Year Strategic Plan. This is not simply a document; it is the fruit of prayer, listening, and true discernment. We believe the Spirit has prepared CLI to serve the Church and her leaders in this very moment, and to help forge a bold future shaped by faith, hope, and love.
